Harri Holma,
Head of Technology - Radio Office Nokia Siemens Networks, Finland
Harri Holma joined Nokia Reserch Center in 1994 and received his M.Sc. from Helsinki University of Technology 1995. He has been with Nokia Networks since 1998 and has been located both in Finland and in USA during that time.
Harri Holma is currently working as Head of Technology - Radio Office with Nokia-Siemens networks with special interest on radio network performance. He has completed his PhD at Helsinki University of Technology 2003. Dr. Holma has edited the book "WCDMA for UMTS" and "HSDPA/HSUPA for UMTS" and contributed to a number of other books in the radio communication area.
Antti Toskala,
Manager, Radio Standardization, Nokia Siemens Networks
Antti Toskala (M.Sc) joined the Nokia Research Center in 1994, where he was involved with WCDMA system studies. In September 1995, he joined the ACTS FRAMES project. In later phase of the FRAMES project he worked as the team leader for the work package which defined the FMA2 WCDMA concept. During 1997, he was working as a Senior Research Engineer and CDMA Specialist participating in the ETSI SMG2 UMTS standardization work.
In ETSI during 1998 he chaired the UMTS physical layer expert group in ETSI SMG2 and from 1999 (the start of 3GPP) until 2003 he was working working in 3GPP as chairman for the TSG RAN WG1, the group being responsible for the physical layer of the WCDMA standard, during the period which basic WCDMA physical layer was defined as well as the specifications for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) were completed and the work started for the uplink packet data evolution.
From 2003 to 2005 he was working as Senior Standardisation Manager with System Technologies, at Nokia Networks and contributing to product development as HSDPA Chief Architect for Nokia Networks. |
